The company revealed that the car has been designed to match the requirements of middleclass Indian families who aspire to possess mobility enhanced status and rise in selfesteem and want to pay a small price for their vehicle. Tata Nano has set a trend in the automobile industry of India debuting a manufacturing era of low cost and ecofriendly automobiles.

The intelligently designed Nano is powered by an allaluminium 623 cc twocylinder petrol engine that churns out 32 bhp. The engine is positioned at the rear of the car and this is a key example of the Nano’s ingenious frugal engineering.
The rearmounted engine not only improves efficiency but also dramatically improves safety. The engine is also associated with an exclusive engine control management unit that monitors the working of the engine and boost performance. The electronic system is Bosch’s new Value Motronic system that is aimed at providing maximum functionality at minimum cost. The system works in conjunction with the sensors injectors and other significant hardware. For the first time a two cylinder engine is used in a car with single balancer shaft.
The Tata Nano is now surprisingly the world’s smallest fourseater minicar with simplistic design that delivers the freedom of individual mobility at a costeffective price. The new small car is expected to create a new history in the journey of automotive discovery.
The engine is further mated to a multipoint injection system and a 4speed manual transmission. In addition the McPherson strut suspension in the front and the rear independent coil spring helps improve handling and stability of the car. The Nano can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 12 seconds with a maximum speed of 110 km/h.
In the interior it is brilliantly packed with a host of functional car features. The sense of space wide windscreen and high seating arrangement has made the small Nano a pretty comfortable car for city driving. The dash of the car is simple yet elegant with one piece moulding housing the centrally positioned instrumentation. The central console is impressive and inspired by twowheeler module. Ergonomically the car is great with adjustable driver’s seat and fixed passenger seats. The highend version of the car is equipped with airconditioner power windows central locking alloy wheels and audio system.
The Nano is aerodynamically designed with costeffective yet beautiful exterior adornments. The clearlens headlamps clearlens taillamp cluster consistent body panel gaps and large bumper make the tiny little car commanding on road. The structure is built in a way to minimize fuel consumption and improve mileage of the car.
Nano is fitted with a host of advanced safety features like intrusionresistant doors crumple zones seat belts strong seats and anchorages and the rear tailgate glass bonded to the body.
